Stas Pantelopulos is owner of the private practice Forest Light Counseling located in the historic district of Montford in Asheville, North Carolina. Stas holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) in the State of North Carolina. He has worked as a wilderness guide, therapist, and a rites of passage a facilitator at two wilderness therapy programs in Western North Carolina, working with teens on the autism spectrum and young adults and their families in early recovery from substance use disorders. He has counseled college students struggling with substance abuse issues at a university, and with adults with severe mental health struggles and their families at a therapeutic farming community. Stas is a trained Gestalt Psychotherapist; he received his training with the Appalachian Gestalt Training Institute based in Asheville, North Carolina. He received training as a Vision Fast facilitator by the School of Lost Borders located in the Sierra Nevadas in California as well. Stas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his time at Temple, Stas worked with at-risk youth in Philadelphia and adjudicated youth in an immersive outdoor program in rural Idaho.
